Empowering Papua New Guinea: AG Group's Visionary Energy Projects Shine on the Global Stage

AG Group's Managing Director, Mr. Allan C Guo, had the distinct privilege of showcasing our pioneering work in Energy Development in Papua New Guinea on the global stage. The momentous occasion took place at the prestigious PNG-Asia Investment Conference in Hong Kong on October 16th and 17th, 2023.

From our humble beginnings, the company has had an extraordinary journey, culminating in the opportunity to represent investment, perseverance, and commitment to Papua New Guinea on an international platform. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the PNG government, for acknowledging and recognising our contribution to the nation.

During Mr. Guo's presentation, he outlined several of our monumental projects across the nation. Among the projects, several noteworthy accomplishments stand out:

Mr. Guo's comprehensive presentation captured the attention and admiration of all conference participants. It was hailed as the standout project presentation, emblematic of our unwavering commitment to sustainable development in Papua New Guinea. Notably, the Edevu Hydropower Project, a pioneering venture, attracted significant attention, no concessions or incentives were sought from the PNG government for this project which was wholly funded and developed by the investor with landowner collaboration —a testament to the project's unique and unparalleled journey. This is a new type of business model, not seen in any large multi-million kina project in PNG, to date.

AG Group's MD also drew attention to the 1994 World Bank Report, which identified PNG's Gross Hydropower Potential at approximately 20,000MW. Remarkably, despite its rugged terrain and abundant rainforests, PNG boasts one of the highest hydropower potentials per capita in the world. Astonishingly, the country has harnessed only 2% of this immense potential to date.

In closing, Mr. Guo passionately encouraged further investment in Papua New Guinea. His words were met with resounding applause as he extended a warm invitation to all potential investors interested in exploring opportunities to contribute to PNG's development. AG Group welcomes anyone eager to learn more about PNG, whether for investment or partnership endeavors. Together, we can build a brighter and more sustainable future for Papua New Guinea.
